Hi,
I'm Jean-François Lévesque
(For short, please call me JF)
About me
I am an independent consultant with 20+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, specializing in drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics (DMPK) at drug discovery and early development stages. Since 2014, I have provided DMPK consulting services to biotech companies, efficiently aiding them in identifying and characterizing optimal drug candidates.

With a rich background of 15 years in senior DMPK roles at Merck and Vertex, I contributed to the discovery and characterization of over 20 pre-clinical candidates across various therapeutic areas, including laropiprant and sibofimloc. My involvement in over 15 cross-functional teams highlights my ability to collaborate, shape strategies, solve issues, and consistently deliver on objectives at the preclinical stage. I actively participated in global DMPK initiatives in the industry, playing a key role in harmonizing best practices, particularly in human PK prediction and in vitro metabolism. My contributions extend to co-authoring 34 publications, a book chapter, and co-inventing a patent application. As a scientist, I strongly value integrity, collaboration and innovation.
During my academic training, I completed my undergraduate degree in Chemistry at Université de Montréal. Under the guidance of Pr. Christiane Ayotte at INRS-Santé, my M.Sc. thesis research focused on investigating the metabolism and urinary excretion of endogenous anabolic steroids, as well as developing analytical strategies to detect potential misuse by athletes.
